Consumer Alert: The viscosity @ 100C for Liberty Gold Plus ATF is far below the typical specified viscosity for automatic transmission fluids.  There is no such category as "top-off" oil, and use of this fluid as directed could lower the viscosity of the transmission fluid to levels that could harm the transmission.  In addition, the test results for this sample show unusually high levels of silicon, iron, manganese, copper, and lead, indicating that this product may contain used and/or contaminated oil.

Libert Gold Plus ATF
General Motors and Ford Motor Company has set forth a number of laboratory and rig tests required to meet the former Dexron III and Mercon performance specifications. Although laboratory tests alone cannot be used to establish if an ATF meets these specifications, they can be used to determine if it doesn't.

The following is a comparison of the test results for the sample of Liberty Gold Plus ATF tested with the Dexron III/Mercon requirements.

Viscometrics

The viscometrics of the Liberty Gold Plus ATF tested do not meet the required targets for a for a Dexron III/Mercon ATF.
