a- Standards, shown in black, are established by API, SAE and others. Ranges, shown in teal, represent the high and low data ranges for the majors. b-Test Method used for metal analysis is ASTM ASTM D5185. c- ASTM D5185-09 Reproducibility by Element. d- Initial Noack test results of 16.0 was rechecked and gave 16,2% loss which is statistically repeatable with the original result. e- The specification of 15 max is expressed in two significant figures and therefore this result meets specification. Note: Should a lubricant manufacturer have independent test data (bench or engine) that shows its lubricant offers higher quality and/or performance than others, we welcome this information and remain prepared to publish it on this website if and when provided. |
