Manufactured by Valvoline a Commercial Unit of Ashland, Lexington, KY

Purchased in: Advanced Auto Parts, Edison, NJ

Date of purchase: 1-30-2013

PQIA initially issued an Advisory on MAXLIFE ATF based on the fact the product implied compliance with the MerconŽ specification but did not meet the MerconŽ viscosity requirement.

Valvoline has since contacted PQIA and provided a valid technical explanation as to why MAXLIFE ATF would provide acceptable performance in MerconŽ applications. Based on this explanation, PQIA no longer believes an Advisory is necessary and has updated its assessment of this product.

Valvoline MAX Life ATF
General Motors and Ford Motor Company has set forth a number of laboratory and rig tests required to meet the former Dexron III and Mercon performance specifications. Although laboratory tests alone cannot be used to establish if an ATF meets these specifications, they can be used to determine if it doesn't.

The following is a comparison of the test results for the sample of Valvoline MAX Life ATF tested with the Dexron III/Mercon requirements.
